SAMUEL ALRIDGE HECKO
Seneca, SC-Samuel Aldridge Hecko, 73, husband of Mary Hecko of Seneca, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by his family.
A native of Greencastle, Indiana, Mr. Hecko showed great commitment to the country with over thirty years of military experience. He enjoyed weaving stunning baskets which have been shown in gallery exhibitions throughout the northeast and southeast; playing golf with his great friend Arthur “Greasy” Reeves; taking his beloved dogs, Maggie and Mollie, to Chick Fil A for nuggets and ice cream; spending time with his son, Matt, daughter, Amy, and granddaughter, Milah; and cruising the Caribbean with his wife, Mary.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hecko is survived by his children: Matthew Hecko (Cynthia) of Florida, Amy
Barrett (Brian) of Walhalla; brothers: Michael Hecko and Jerry Hecko of Indiana, and Dan Hecko of
California; sister: Flo Hatcher of Connecticut; and his granddaughter: Milah Hecko of Florida.
Mr. Hecko was preceded in death by his parents: George and Dodie Hecko of Indiana; brother: Joseph
Hecko of Indiana; sister: Becky McCann of Indiana; and his two adored dogs: Maggie and Mollie Hecko.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am.
