Robert A. Lee

Robert A. Lee, 76. died peacefully at his nieces’ home in Anderson, on May 29, 2019.

Robert was born on September 20th, 1942, in Bronx, New York to William and Elizabeth Lee.

After graduating from High School Robert enlisted in the US Army. Robert served his country proudly and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for heroic actions on August 8, 1966 in the Republic of Vietnam.

Upon return to civilian life Robert worked for the Metro North Railroad for 34 years. Upon his retirement Robert moved to Seneca, South Carolina. Robert was a masterful wood worker, gardener and avid birdwatcher. He was a member of The American Legion and VFW.

Service and internment will be held at the M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery Inway Drive Anderson, SC on June 4th at 3:00 pm in the chapel.

He is survived by brothers Gabriel Lee (Frances) of Hicksville, NY. Philip Lee (Margaret) Concord, NH.

His favorite title was “Uncle” Robert. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of great nieces and nephews. He was greatly loved by all of us. The world would be a better place if everyone had an Uncle Robert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers William of Ohio and Joseph of Salem, SC. His loving sisters-in-laws Kay of Ohio and Ginny of Salem, SC.
