RITA COOKSEY

Seneca- Rita Gibson Cooksey, 86, life partner of Lew Beman, passed away on September 23^rd, 2024 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.

 

Born August 24^th, 1938, in Jena, Louisiana, Rita was the daughter of the late Ossie and Ora Gibson. Rita was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening in her free time. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. But most of all, she was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. 

 

Rita is survived by her partner, Lew Beman; sons, Fredrick M. Cooksey (Elizabeth), and Todd Beman; brother, Glynn Gibson; and granddaughter Zoe Shirk.

 

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Hal Gibson.

 

Per Rita’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
