Revenues fail to meet expenses
A dip into the fund balance of Oconee public schools made up for a $1.8 million deficit for the year that ended June 30. The county trustees last night received the 2019-20 audit, as presented by CPA Don Estep. For the year, revenues were nearly $104.5 million; expenses were $106.2 million. To make up the difference, the district resorted to its fund balance. Which, by June 30, left the fund balance at $21.2 million.
