Rev. James Maurice Alexander

Walhalla, SC — Rev. James Maurice Alexander, 90, husband of the late Jane Marcengill Alexander, of 319 Austin Edwards Road, Walhalla, passed away, Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Cottingham Hospice House.

 

A native of Oconee County, SC, Rev. Alexander was the son of the late Thomas P. and Bessie Smith Alexander. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Anda-Ka Industries. Rev. Alexander was the former Pastor of Little River Baptist Church and a current member of Walhalla First Baptist Church.

 

Rev. Alexander is survived by Donna James and Dena Smith.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Rev. Alexander was preceded in death by his brothers: Marvin Clayton Alexander, T.E. “Gene” Alexander, Roy Smith Alexander, William “Bill” Alexander, and Guy Alexander; and sisters: Edith McCall and Mae Weston.

 

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Alexander Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

 

The family is at their respective homes.
