Refusing to let the crooks have the upper hand

Anderson County’s Forest Lawn Memorial Park has received 21 replacement American flags, courtesy of county sheriff’s deputies.  After vandals destroyed 21 flags over July 4 weekend, county deputies pooled money to buy 21 replacement flags, and they presented them to the cemetery Wednesday morning.  The gesture is seen as determination by officers from the sheriff’s office Delta shift to not let criminals, in this instance, have the upper hand.  The deputies went to two Anderson Lowe’s stores to buy the flags.  But the store managers refused to allow the deputies to buy the flags.  Instead, the store donated the replacement flags.  The July 3-4 vandalism case remains under investigation.  Anderson Area Crime Stoppers offers a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
