Re-birthing distinctive groups of veterans

An informal get together has been announced for Oconee County military vetersn who served in a combat infantry unit and those who’ve been accorded the Purple Heart decoration.  Local veteran leaders, including Jerry Dyar, the county’s V-A officer, are in hopes of re-organizing local combat infantry and Purple Heart organizations.  The meeting will be 10 o’clock Thursday morning, May 19 at the Walhalla Legion Post, 319 Kenneth Street.
