Questions about ATAX spending
Oconee PRT commissioners have thrown their support for spending around $154 thousand dollars in local ATAX revenues on various projects, including updates and replacements at county parks. But what the work actually will entail brought out a number of questions from District Five county councilman Glenn Hart. And Hart put those questions last night to Phil Shirley, PRT executive director. One of them pertained to paying a structural engineer for his analysis and design to repair a South Cove Park pavilion closed for safety reasons. Other projects that drew Hart questions included electrical upgrades at the county’s High Falls Park and at the following boat landings: Friendship, Fair Play, Mullins Ford, and Lawrence Bridge.
