Public Workshops focus on Water Management

The US Army Corps of engineers is planning two public workshops focusing on water management and the current drought.  The first meetings will be Wednesday & Thursday, October 24 & 25 from 4:30 to 8 at Westside High School in Anderson.  The workshops will include discussions on lake level predictions, water conservation management, hydropower production and water management operations of lake Thurmond, Russell & Hartwell.  The three reservoirs entered Drought Contingency Level 2 on August 28, 2011. Both lake Hartwell and Lake Thurmond are approximately 8 feet down from the average pool.
