Public schools open tomorrow morning

A new year for Oconee public school children starts tomorrow morning and it means those yellow buses make a return to the roads, streets, and highways.  Parents may look forward to a tax break this coming weekend.  The annual South Carolina tax free weekend takes place Friday through Sunday, August 7-9.  This weekend retailers may not charge state or local sales tax on school supplies, clothing, and other essentials.  All purchases of eligible items are tax exempt, including in–store and online sales.
