Prospective employer to offer $22.85 an hour

A Korean-based recycling company promises to pay $22.85 an hour to the more than 100 workers it will employ in Stephens County, Georgia, at the company’s first U-S facility.  SungEel Recycling is a lithium-ion battery recycler and raw materials provider.  SungEel’s destination is the Hayestone Brady Business Park.  Toccoa Radio WNEG submitted questions to the company, including whether there will be an incinerator used to break down batteries to be recycled.  The answer provided:  “No.  There will be an electric-powered dryer.  There will not be natural gas combustion at the facility.”  And, to the question of whether any pollutants will be released into the air, SungEel says its process will be fully compliant with federal and state permitting regulations.  The projected start date is December 2023.  Locally and regionally qualified individuals are to be afforded top priority for 104 positions.
