Planning Commission returns to action Monday

With business such as corridors and the U-S Census, the Oconee County Planning Commission will re-group on Monday evening in the county council chambers in Walhalla.  The planning commissioners’ meeting at 5 pm is a public gathering, but social distancing must be observed.  Attendance by the general public will be limited to 20% capacity, or a total of 34 people.  There are alternate ways for interested members of the public to follow the meeting.  The meeting will be broadcast live on the county’s YouTube channel.  The public may call in and listen by dialing 888/475-4499 or 877/853-5257 and entering meeting ID # 828 4377 0168.  And if you park in close proximity to the council chambers, you may listen on FM 92.3.  County commission meetings are no place for partisan political activity.  Such is prohibited by ordinance.  The applicable section reads:  “Partisan political activities are those activities that are directed at the success or failure of a political party, candidate for political office or political group.”
