Party time at the shelter

Shelter pets at Oconee Humane Society in Seneca will get a bit of holiday magic during the Holiday Wishes Party tomorrow from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1925 Sandifer Blvd. Visitors and volunteers will sing rousing renditions of “Santa Paws is Coming to Town”, “Jingle Bones,” and more to the adoptable cats and dogs. Many dogs and cats can be adopted for a $10 fee. Every pets is spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and has all age-appropriate shots.
Oconee County residents can also get a spay or neuter voucher for a current pet for only $50. This is about one-third of the typical price of the surgery.
While the event is free, people are encouraged to bring a roll or two of paper towels to help build the largest, and maybe the first ever, paper snowman. Cookies and cocoa will be available for humans. The goal of the event is to show communities members the fantastic pets available at the shelter and help get ’em home for the holidays.
