Oconee reviewing zoning and design standard rules
Oconee’s new planning director has laid out a schedule to review county zoning and design standard regulations. DeAnn Hester told a county council committee that she’s keeping in mind January 19, the day that the county’s current moratorium on new home developments of 10 lots and higher will expire. Between now and then, she said, there will be time for three council readings, as well as a pair of public comment meetings this month on the 29th and the 30th. Councilman Don Mize asked Hester if a developer can skirt the moratorium by building multiple subdivisions of 10 lots each. She replied: “That’s one of things we are covering.”
