Oconee faces at a statewide conference on the coast

It’s happening today at the Isle of Palms.  Lexington County’s Debora Summers takes over from Oconee’s Paul Cain as the new president of the South Carolina Association of Counties.  Cain, in his final year as District Three councilman, officially completes his one-year service as the titular head of the statewide association.  He has enjoyed the year.  Telling 101.7/WGOG NEWS this morning:  “It’s been an honor to serve as the president this year.”  We’ve seen a snapshot this morning of two other public servants — one of whom is an Oconee County councilman; the other, a former Oconee department head.  That photograph is that of Julian Davis, the District Four councilman, and Dale Butts, former Oconee Register of Deeds and currently an assistant county administrator in Beaufort County.
