Oconee-based non-profit merits “Angel” award

An Oconee-based non-profit, Ride to Work Ministry, earned the distinction of one of a select few South Carolina non-profits recognized by the Secretary of the State for significant contributions to people’s well-being and demonstrates good stewardship of charitable resources.  As such, Ride to Work received an Angel award, having devoted 80% or more of its totals expenditures to charitable efforts. And it’s a sign Ride to Work complies with the state Solicitation of Charitable Funds law. In its eight years of operation, Ride to Work counts nearly 20 thousand rides to/from work to local residents who have a job but need temporary transportation until they can find their own way to work.
