Oconee a finalist for economic development project
Oconee County has been identified as a finalist for an economic development project code-named “Project Deer.” Last night county council gave first-reading approval to incentives to lure project Deer, which is touted as an international manufacturer that would bring a $40 million investment and at least 100 jobs. The incentives proposed would allow the company to qualify for abatements, special source credits that would lower their assessed tax value to six percent.
