Not altogether defenseless against inflation, says specialist

Yelling at your supermarket manager about what you have to pay for items in your food basket is liable not to be the best way to make your point.  But are we totally defenseless about what we have to pay just to keep up with the rise in the cost of living?  Bailey Parker tells us we are not totally defenseless.  Parker directs communications for the South Carolina Department of Consumers Affairs – the state agency charged with, where possible, protecting consumers from inequities in the marketplace.  For the 12 months ending in October, the rate of inflation was 7.75%.  Parker speaks to inflation and, more importantly, what each of us can do to try to offset it when we go to buy food or any other item.  Her comments are being aired today on 101.7/WGOG NEWS and our entire interview will be played following the Saturday morning 7 o’clock ABC Network News on 101.7 WGOG.
