Nomadic-style home destroyed by fire
A nomadic-style home was a fire casualty Saturday in rural Franklin County, Georgia. Two fire departments responded, but could not save the yurt, a circular dwelling whose origins are Central Asia. Nearby residents saw what appeared to be fire encircling the bottom of the yurt before the entire structure went up in flames. WLHR Lavonia quotes sources as saying the owner rented the yurt to a young man who rushed home in response to the fire and apparently was involved in a traffic accident on Hunters Creek Road.
