No short term rental vote last night

The elected leaders of Seneca are not yet ready to cast a vote on regulating short term rentals.  The controversial subject that divides the real estate community and many of Seneca’s homeowners was not on the agenda for last night’s regular September meeting of the city council.  That, however, did not stop members of the audience from addressing the city leaders during the public comment part of the meeting.  Mayor Alexander thanked those whose comments touched on private property rights–whether they be the right to rent their properties against the peace and quiet that homeowners expect their city to maintain in their neighborhoods.  “We are trying to make sure we do it right,” the mayor said referring to the eventual recommendation and vote on how the city will decide the issue.
