No comment on death penalty question

A prosecutor is non-committal on whether the circuit solicitor’s office will seek the death penalty against two Oconee County men who are being held on charges that they murdered an elderly woman last week at a Seneca home. When asked yesterday if the prosecution will pursue a death penalty, deputy solicitor Lindsey Simmons said, “The investigation is ongoing, so I wouldn’t be able to comment on that at this point.” Hunter Lee Hunnicutt and Decota Castle Brown are charged in the shooting death of Geraldine Castle, 73 years old, and identified as the grandmother of defendant Brown.
