New technology to enhance public safety

Walhalla Police Department is on its way to acquiring a new technology that will offer an app technology that will enable the citizenry to quickly report crime and suspicious activity that shows up at their front doors. Chief Sean Brinson took part in a statewide meeting last week in Columbia to review the technology called “Neighbors.” From a homeowner’s doorbell and handheld devices, the app offers the capability to post video. “It’s a powerful tool that will significantly increase our communication with our citizens,” Brinson said yesterday. Once “Neighbors” is completely set up, Brinson will further detail what the technology can do.
