New Oconee virus death, believed to be the 7th

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today announced 1,295 new confirmed cases and 30 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 44 additional confirmed deaths and 9 new probable deaths. Oconee County numbers were 16 new cases and one additional death—that of an elderly individual on August 1.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 96,132, probable cases to 665, confirmed deaths to 1,863, and 80 probable deaths.

As of yesterday, a total of 812,013 tests have been conducted in the state.

 

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 6,589 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 19.7%
