Near 5-hour rescue north of Walhalla

South Carolina “HEART” — the state’s Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team — dropped a line to help effect a Memorial Day rescue at the scenic but, at times, dangerous Yellow Branch Falls near Walhalla.  A member of a visiting family party apparently sustained a lower leg injury at the base of the waterfall.  Walhalla Fire Department and others started their rescue at the 1 o’clock hour, eventually called for help from the Columbia-based “HEART” team.
