HS BASKETBALL: Seneca’s Varsity Basketball teams have a home double-header Monday night starting with the Lady Cats at 6 PM, hosting the Abbeville Panthers in this region warm-up game.  Gates will open at 5:15 PM. The boys game will follow.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Alabama forward Shannon Hale stole an inbounds pass and slammed it home with 25 seconds remaining to lift the Crimson Tide to a 51-50 win over Clemson on Sunday in Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. The loss drops the Tigers to 5-3 overall, while Alabama improves to 6-2 on the season.

NFL: Andy Dalton broke his thumb while making a tackle after throwing an interception, turning Cincinnati’s season upside-down in an instant.  With a chance to clinch the AFC North at home, the Bengals lost their quarterback and the game.  The Pittsburgh Steelers battered backup AJ McCarron while pulling away to a 33-20 victory that left the division and the top AFC playoff seed up for grabs.

NFL: Blake Bortles threw for three touchdowns and ran for a score on the team’s final play, and the Jaguars beat Indianapolis 51-16 to end the Colts’ 16 game winning streak in the AFC South.

NFL: Cam Newton raced around the Carolina Panthers sideline in the final minutes of a 38-0 rout of the Atlanta Falcons, raising his arms to the crowd as fans cheered on their emotional MVP candidate.

NFL: Khalil Mack had five second half sacks, including one in the end zone for a safety, and Derek Carr bounced back from an awful first half to lead the Oakland Raiders past the Denver Broncos 15-12.

NFL: Eddie Lacy ran for 124 yards and a touchdown and fellow running back James Starks added two scores in the Packers 28-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
