MEL FOSTERVOLD
West Union – Melvin “Mel” F. Fostervold, 88, husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Reese Fostervold, passed away Monday, November 18th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 17th, 1936, Mel was the son of the late Harald and Irma Fostervold. Mel was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a carpenter in his free time, and he and his son, Mikal, built their own houses. He was also a jack of all trades.
Mel is survived by his loving wife, Beth; son, Mark Fostervold (Tina); daughter, Tricia Golden (Matthew); daughter-in-law, Tammy Fostervold; grandchildren, Christopher Fostervold (Jennifer), Rhonda Smith (Jody), Amanda Martin (Daniel), Melissa Storch (David), Jason Dilts, Riley Tauscher, Keriann Parkes, Ariana Matyas, Brandon Matyas, Sam Golden; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Mel is preceded in death by his son, Mikal Fostervold; his first wife, Claire Vegard Fostervold; and his brother, Harald Fostervold.
A Private Family Service was held.
