May 18 jury pool to be divided into two groups

The 700 Oconeeans sent jury summons to report for duty have been asked to report to the courthouse during two separate times on Monday, May 18.  According to Clerk of Court Lisa Burton, one group is directed to report at 8:30 am; the other at 12:30.  The week of May 18 is being reserved for SC v. Maxwell. Burton says, “We summoned 700, taking into consideration there would be reasons that some would not appear, for example, those that qualify for an exemption, those that no longer reside within our county, among other extenuating circumstances.
