Marvin Harley White

Stanley, NC – Marvin Harley White, 86, husband of the late Lila Wilson White, of 5824 Cedarbrook Court, Stanley, NC, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020, at his home.

 

A native of Cashiers, NC, Mr. White was the son of the late Grimshaw and Pauline White. He retired as a crane operator from Duke Energy and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. White was of the Church of God faith.

 

Mr. White is survived by his sons: Steve White (Shelia) of Stanley, NC; and step-son: Joe Grant (Tonya) of Iron Station, NC; brother: Kenneth White of Liberty, SC; sisters: Joyce Wilson Reese and Janice Alexander both of Salem, SC; grandchildren: Brandon White and Beth Gilliam; step-grandchild: Crissy Grant; and step-great-grandchildren: April and Autumn Grant, Alexis Grant, Mary Whitworth, Joseph Whitworth and Timothy Whitworth.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by his daughter: Carol Gilliam; granddaughter: Maria Black; and grandson: Danny Grant.

 

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Wilson Family Cemetery, Salem, SC.

 

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

The family is at their respective homes.
