Lyman Clayton Wilson, Sr

Lyman Clayton Wilson, Sr, 97 of 1806 Westminster Highway, Walhalla, SC, husband of the late Mattie E. Wall Wlson, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Lila Doyle Nursing Care facility in Seneca, SC.

A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Lyman Milton and Lela Lyles Wilson.  He was a faithful and devoted member of College Street Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of Wilson’s Used Cars in Walhalla, SC.

Mr. Wilson is survived by sons, L.C. Wilson Jr of Seneca, William M. “Bill” Wilson of Seneca, and Dean Wilson of Owasso, OK; daughters Jean Bozardt of Eutawville, SC, Martha Elizabeth “Betty” Stephens of Walhalla, Ann W. Anderson, of Walhalla, and Mary Tichenor of Walhalla; sister, Lucy W. Lee; sixteen grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren, fourteen step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-step grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by sisters Dora W. Spencer, Edna W. Moore and Ruth W. Rochester, and two son-in-laws, Bruce Anderson and Jimmy Stephens.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday at College Street Baptist Church with burial at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 Sunday, in the Family Life Center of College Street Baptist Church.
