Local Churches Urged to Find Alternate Ways to Offer Worship

101.7 WGOG NEWS has learned Oconee County, with support from the Sheriff’s Office, will request churches to avoid all services that would attract more worshipers than that which government guidelines suggest is a safe number. The churches, according to Sheriff Crenshaw, are encouraged to replace in-person services with online worship. Avoiding crowds at this time is recommended to hold down cases of the virus, for which there’s no vaccine now available.
