Leonard Ray Stephens

 

 

Walhalla, SC – Leonard Ray Stephens, 91, husband of Jane Coward Stephens, of 205 Malinda Street, Walhalla, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at his home.

 

A native of Belton, SC, Mr. Stephens was the son of the late James W. and Lettie Stephens. He retired from Duke Power and was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Stephens won numerous tennis tournaments throughout the years. He was a member of the Jaycees, Walhalla Rotary Club, IPTAY and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stephens is survived by his son: Jay Stephens of Greenville, SC; daughters: Cindy Stephens Owens (Steve) of Easley, SC, Angela Stephens of Walhalla, SC and Julie Stephens Croxton (Joe) of Taylors, SC; sister: Shelby Stephens Duncan of Sandy Springs; grandchildren: Trey Stephens, Alex Owens, Brantli Jane Frazier and Lindley Peters; and great-grandchildren: Tripp Owens, Addy Grace Owens and Raelyn Peters.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his brothers: James, Richard, Howard, Earle, Bobby and Donnie Stephens.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Luke United Methodist Church with entombment to follow at Oconee Memorial Park Mausoleum.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, prior to the service, at the church.

 

Masks are required at the service.
