Law officer’s eyes to re-focus on a need

A long-time Oconee Sheriff’s officer is spending the rest of the year in retirement, but he’s scheduled to return January 1 as a part-time employee to fill a need within his office.  Sheriff Mike Crenshaw today confirmed that retired Sgt. David McMahan, after 15 years, has taken retirement, but will return for a few- days-a-week cold case investigator.  There are a number missing persons and unsolved homicide cases to be resolved and, McMahan through his experience, is already familiar with several of them.  Meantime, the sheriff’s office is taking applications to fill McMahan’s former sergeant’s duties.
