Late night motorcycle chase stretched from the Seneca area to the Salem area

A motorcycle operator faces multiple traffic offenses after an excursion late at night last night on primaries and secondaries across parts of Oconee County.  Spotting a moving motorcycle in excess of around 95 miles an hour on 123 east of Seneca, a deputy was prompted to attempt the traffic stop.  But the motorcycle operator, identified as Brett Xavier Lockett, failed to comply, according to the sheriff’s office.  In pursuit of the motorcycle, at times, moving in excess of 100 miles an hour, officers eventually caught their suspect near Salem.  Thirty-year-old Lockett was issued citations charging reckless driving, fail to stop for blue light, disregarding traffic control device, left of center, disregarding a stop sign, and no passing zones. Fortunately, no uninvolved members of the public were hurt, as the deputies involved say, the chase proceeded at a late night hour when there was little or no civilian traffic present.
