Large “prime, developable industrial land”

Oconee Economic Alliance has hopes for a state grant to buy 100 acres.  The acreage is called “prime, developable industrial land”.  The county’s industrial recruitment organization seeks County Council approval next week to make application for a $1.5 million reimbursable grant from the Site Enhancement Initiative program of the state Department of Commerce.”  The OCEA projects that based on a one million square foot buildout of industrial space, the property could deliver one thousand new manufacturing jobs with an annual payroll of $60 million.
