Jury verdict

A court officer tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS that Oconee jury sided with the prosecution yesterday and found that the state had proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Christopher Trent Wilder should remain in custody at this time.  The verdict brought to an end a two-day trial that centered on whether inmate Wilder, classified as a sexual violent predator, had advanced to the point that he should be released from confinement. State assistant attorney’s general used a forensic psychiatrist to evaluate the defendant; while the defense side relied on a state mental health doctor and her report of an evaluation that she conducted.
