Jurist from the Midlands to preside in Oconee

A circuit judge from the South Carolina Midlands will preside in Walhalla next month during a term of the Oconee Common Pleas Court.  The assignment of G. Thomas Cooper Jr. for the Oconee court week March 9 is believed to be the first time that Cooper will have held court in Oconee County.  He is considered an active/retired judge from the state’s 5th judicial circuit–Richland and Kershaw counties.  First up on the March 9 docket is a car accident dispute that involves a 2016 accident in Walhalla.
