JOSHUA THURBER

Seneca – Joshua Ryan Thurber, age 39, husband of Sonya Shook, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his residence.

Joshua was born on November 11, 1986, in Sacramento, New Mexico, and was the son of Fred Davis and Judy Davis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before becoming employed with Keowee Key, where he worked on the maintenance crew. Joshua had a great passion for fishing, shooting firearms, and spending time outdoors. He will be remembered for his love of nature, his hardworking spirit, and the time he shared with those he loved.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Sonya Shook; his daughter, Riley Ashley Davis of Seneca; and his sister, Ashley Shelton of Texas.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, in the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
