JOHN R. “Hoss” MCALISTER

Westminster – John Raymond “Hoss” McAlister, 77, passed away on Sunday, April 30^th, 2023 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Hoss was the son of the late William Duffy McAlister and Retha Mae Savage McAlister.  Hoss retired from the City of Westminster after 30 years of dedicated service and was of the Baptist faith.  Hoss took great joy in riding around on his golf cart.

 

Hoss is survived by his brother, Walter McAlister; sister, Betty Watkins; sister-in-law, Connie McAlister; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Hoss was preceded in death by his brothers, James Earl McAlister, William Claybourne McAlister, and James Kilbourne McAlister.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.

 

The family is at their respective homes.
