Janice McAllister

Seneca – Janice Louise McAllister, 68, wife of the late Craig Alan McAllister, of 112 Cedar Creek Lane, gained her heavenly wings on July 21, 2019, after a short battle with cancer, that she finally won. 

 

Born February 15, 1951, in Seneca, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lester V. and Mildred Louise Roach O’Kelley.  Mrs. McAllister was a retired cashier from Hometown Grocery, where she was known as the “Queen of Hometown Grocery”.  Janice was very active in her church, Hopewell Baptist, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, volunteered with Vacation Bible School, and was an active member of the WMU group the “Butterfly Ladies”. 

 

Survivors include daughter, Connie Pelfrey Church and son-in-law Marcus Church; a granddaughter, Janna Pelfrey; and two great-grandchildren, Kaidyn and Aubri, who adored their Grammy.  She also leaves behind, seven brothers and sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   

 

Mrs. McAllister was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held, 2pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends 1-2 pm, prior to the service at the church.

 

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made in Mrs. McAllister’s memory to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, C/O GHS Cottingham Hospice House – Attention: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC.
