James Travis Land

Seneca, SC– James Travis Land, 83, of 1017 S. Oak Street, Seneca, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at his home.

 

A native of Oconee County, SC, Mr. Land was the son of the late Paul Vereen and Gurthie Leola Long Land. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard and retired from Duke Power. Mr. Land enjoyed participating in the local Cruzin on Main in Seneca, SC and collecting cars and jukeboxes. He was a member of the Studebaker Club and attended Foothills Community Church.

 

Mr. Land is survived by his daughter: Carol Hicks (Keith); brothers: Bobby Land of Seneca, SC and Terrell Land of Seneca; sisters: Jean Myers of Riverview, FL, Rachel Hicks of Seneca, SC, Marian McClure of Seneca, SC and Karen Coker of Seneca, SC; grandchildren: Paige Hicks of Athens, GA and Tyler Hicks of Huntsville, AL; and great-grandchild: Meredith Hicks of Athens, GA.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Land was preceded in death by his brothers: Frank Land and Tyrus Land; and sisters: Lizell Neal, Bonnie Brewer and Norma Price.

 

Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Friday, September 17, 2021, at Oconee Memorial Park with Military Rites.

 

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

 

Cruzers who attend are asked to drive their classic cars.
