James Richard Glymph

James Richard Glymph, 76, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, formerly of Fair Play, South Carolina, and husband of Christy Stanley Glymph died Monday, December 3, 2018. His Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Fair Play Presbyterian Church, Fair Play, SC at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Dick was born November 1, 1942 in Mooresboro, North Carolina, son of Marie Vernon Burrus Glymph and the late Backman Hentz Glymph. He was honored to serve his country in the US Naval Reserves active in Charleston from 1966-1968. Dick spent his professional life in the field of medical sales specializing in Respiratory Care Products and Development. As a founding member, he served on the Neuroscience Advisory Board for the Medical University of South Carolina from 2012 until present. Dick was on the Board of the Oconee Medical Center for 8 years and chaired the building committee for the new hospital completed in 2010. Dick also enjoyed his time on the Oconee Economic Development Board from 1998-2001. A longtime member of Fair Play Presbyterian Church, he served the congregation as a Deacon, Elder, and a Trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Christy Stanley Glymph of Isle of Palms, SC; a son, James R. Glymph, Jr. (Olga) of Cumming, GA; two daughters, Stephanie Glymph-Ramsey (Larry) of Smyrna, GA. and Amy Glymph Jennette Jeffrey) of Springfield, VA; and eight grandchildren: William, Ethan, Jack, Madeline, Trey, Anna, Philip, and Christy. Also surviving is his twin brother, Joe Glymph (Dianna) of Macon, GA.
