Infant’s Death Deemed Homicide-Funeral Services are Planned.

The Oconee County Coroner’s office has released the autopsy findings conducted on a 7 month infant who died Monday night at the pediatric ICU at Greenville Memorial Hospital. According to a release from the Coroner’s office, the autopsy was performed Thursday morning at Anmed Medical Health Center by Dr. Brett Woodard.  The coroner’s office says the autopsy revealed  7 month old Amy Genesis Stashluk  died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, which resulted in bleeding around the brain.  The injury is classified as non accidental in nature.  Over the next several days or weeks, additional examinations will be performed on tissues collected during the autopsy.  Based on the autopsy findings, the child’s death is classified as a homicide. The child’s uncle, 26 year old McKenzie Lee Turner, was arrested Tuesday and charged with homicide by child abuse. The Oconee Sheriff’s Department continues the investigation. Memorial services for Amy Stashluk will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Sandifer Funeral Home of Westminster.
