Hotel developers get more time

Oconee County Council has given a new time extension for developers to clear more government hurdles in their quest to rebuild the former county courthouse into a hotel.  After comments last night by builder Tom Markovich, the council approved an addendum to the Historic Oconee County Courthouse project.  Markovich told the council he and his partner are close to their final approval from the office of state historic preservation.  From there, the paperwork goes to the National Park Service.  The developers seek to qualify for tax credits.  Markovich expressed some concern over the impact that a new U-S tax bill might have on the project.
