Hershel Pearson Sr.

Hershel Lee Pearson Sr., a beacon of gentleness and wisdom, passed away peacefully at NHC Health Care Anderson, South Carolina, on May 6, 2025. Born on September 6, 1939, Hershel’s life was a testament to the love and strength that can be found in family and the simple acts of kindness that resonate through a community.

Hershel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Marlene Cobb Pearson, and his parents, Gordan Augustus and Ressie Childress Pearson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Luther, and S. Douglas Pearson, and his sisters, Linda Addis and Carolyn Davis. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his son, Lee Pearson (Shawn) of Townville, South Carolina, his daughter, Robbie Hendricks of Seneca, his brother, Rev. Larry Pearson of Anderson, and his sister, Mary Clinkscales of Wahalla.

He was a proud grandfather to Meg and Amy Pearson, Kayla and Kyle Hendricks, and a great-grandfather to Keene Hendricks. Hershel’s skilled, handy touch and his deep well of knowledge were gifts he shared generously with all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am, Friday, May 9th, 2025 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with a burial at a later date at Oconee Memorial Park.
