Heavy traffic no surprise to the patrol

I-85 at the Georgia-South Carolina crossing carried what looked like heavier than normal week day traffic today, but that was no surprise to the men and women of the state patrol who must police the interstate highway.  Two South Carolina troopers were stationed four hours today at the state Welcome Center at Fair Play to greet motorists and to remind everyone it’s better to slow down on all of the state’s highways to stay safe, especially during a holiday weekend.  It is their hope that everyone will drive safe and obey the traffic laws to avoid collisions, especially the ones that result in death.  Last year, during the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, 14 people were killed in traffic accidents across South Carolina.
