Harold Capitola

Salem, SC – Harold Capitola, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend went to be with our Lord on March 14, 2020, at Cottingham Hospice House, Seneca, SC, after a short illness.

 

Born in New Castle, PA, he resided in Salem, SC. After retiring from Dad’s Pet Foods in Meadville, PA, Mr. Capitola served in the US Navy aboard the USS Randolph Carrier.  He played tuba with St. Margaret’s Blue Coat Band since 1950 and later with Dixie Keys in Keowee Key, SC.

 

Mr. Capitola is survived by his wife of seventy years, who he married on March 11, 1950, Donna Doerr Capitola; two sons: Paul Capitola of New Castle, PA and Dave (Cora) Capitola of Florida; four granddaughters: Lisa Peart, Christine Long, Rachel Joy Capitola, and Angela Capitola, all of Florida; four great-grandchildren: Christopher Long, Jamie Long, Kai Peart, and Ryder Peart; and sister: Patricia (Tom) Schweikert of New Castle, PA.

 

Mr. Capitola was preceded in death by his parents: Nick and Virginia Schetrom Capitola; three brothers: Bill Schetrom, Jack Capitola, and Russel Capitola; and three sisters: Grace Micco, Barbra Rogan, and Beverly Jefferies.

 

A beautiful life that came to an end. He died as he lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept of one we loved, and will never forget.
