Hair styling and a trim could get hard to find

“I’m just waiting day-to-day to see how what we’ll be told to do as far as closing.” That’s the reality facing some of Oconee County’s cosmetologists who’ve been trying to work and yet adjust to the guidelines for avoiding close contact with others during the COVID-19 spread. Gwen Owens has been in the business of cutting both men’s and women’s hair for decades. She spoke to us from her long-time shop on Seneca’s N. Townville Street. In her case, she is limiting appointments to only two clients at a time. Men often treat their need for a trim as a nuisance, but for many women visits to their favorite hair stylist is often a social treat, something to look forward to. Not now some of Owens’ customers are simply fearful of leaving their homes.
