GREGORY THOMAS NICHOLAS

Seneca, SC– Gregory Thomas Nicholas, 79, beloved husband of Tema Nicholas, passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2025.

Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Greg was the son of the late Sidney Lee and Mary Longwell Nicholas. He was a proud graduate of Parkersburg High School’s centennial class of 1963, where he was a standout member of the gymnastics team. During his senior year, he won a gold medal in every pommel horse competition. It was also in high school that Greg began a meaningful study of the Bible, leading to his baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at age 18—an expression of faith that shaped the rest of his life.

Known to be a hard worker, Greg worked many years in sales for a janitorial supply company where he was recognized with numerous awards for his achievements. But more than any professional recognition, what brought Greg true happiness was sharing the scriptural wisdom he had gained (Acts 20:35). He did this wholeheartedly as a volunteer, offering his time and knowledge freely, never asking anything in return. Greg had a sincere interest in people, and his kindness and willingness to help left a lasting impression on many.

He also had a deep appreciation for creation and could often be found outdoors. Whether walking, working, or simply enjoying the fresh air, Greg rarely stayed inside for long, only stepping indoors for a brief “break.”

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Tema, and their sons: Zachary Nicholas and Bradley (Rocio) Nicholas. He is also survived by his brothers: Jeffrey (Cindy) Nicholas and Timothy Nicholas; and by lifelong friends: Joe Wilson, Pat Wilson, and Robert Nicolai.

He is predeceased by his parents, his dear friend Michael Nicolai, and his faithful feline companion, BB.

Greg will be remembered for his kindness, faith, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.—Rev. 14:13

A memorial service will be held on August 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 671 SC-11, Walhalla, SC 29691.
