Furman’s Robinson earns weekly honors

Furman safety Trey Robinson has been named FCS National Defensive Player of the Week. Robinson collected the honor after keying a decisive Furman defensive effort in the Paladins’ 16-15 win over American Conference member Central Florida. Robinson was also named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week. Furman placekicker/punter Jon Croft Hollingsworth was named Southern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The Paladins return home this Saturday to face the Virginia Military Institute, while Central Florida faces another team from the Palmetto State. The Golden Knights have a noon meeting with South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium.
