From banker’s viewpoint, the debt limit situation

Oconee banker Darryl Broome once worked as chief of staff for a U-S congressman, which gave him a close view of the controversies that gripped the U-S government.  He has been gone from Washington for several years, but we thought it worthwhile to pick his brain for his thoughts on a major quarrel between the President and House Republicans –whether the country can avoid an economic crisis by resolving the debt limit.  According to an Associated Press report, the government can rely on accounting tweaks to at least temporarily avoid threats to the economy.  Broome’s comments are being played today on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
